Here is a large compilation of questions our customers have asked us. These questions range from “what is vaping?” to “what is an RDA?” anyone can look at this and gain some new knowledge about the world of vaping.
What is vaping?
Vaping is the act of using an e-cigarette, also called e-cigs. Normally you will press the fire button, which makes the battery heat up the coil in the middle of the tank, the coil has cotton on it which soaked in e-liquid. The heating of the coil turns the e-liquid into vapor, which the user inhales.
Is vaping safe?
Before we answer this question, a quick disclaimer. We ARE NOT doctors, nor are we in any capacity able to provide health advice. Our answer to this question is based on industry and FDA reports. There have been no studies about the long-term effects of vaping, but a study conducted by Health New Zealand conducted a detailed quantitative analysis and concluded that carcinogens and toxicants are present only below harmful levels. There are some concerns but one things is for sure, while a lot of issues from cigarettes arise from tar, there is no tar in e-cigarettes.
Is vaping legal?
That depends, for a comprehensive look on where e-cigs are banned, please look at the history of vaping here.
Currently, vaping is legal in the United States and England, but there are restrictions. In the United States, you cannot vape inside and is considered a tobacco product and is treated as such.
Is vaping safer than cigarettes.
Please refer to our disclaimer mentioned in the “is vaping safe?” question. A study conducted by Public Health England concluded that e-cigarette use can be up to 95% less harmful than smoking tobacco. Vaping can still contain nicotine, which is an addictive substance.
Does vaping contain nicotine?
Yes, you can buy a wide range of nicotine levels, normally anywhere from 3 -24 mg of nicotine. You can, however, purchase e-liquid without nicotine as well.
Is vaping cheaper than smoking cigarettes?
This answer will vary depending on which state or country you reside in. Vaping starter kits range from $30-$100, e-liquid will cost $15 per 30 ml bottle. There is no exact comparison but it is said by past smokers that a 15-ml bottle is equivalent to a carton of cigarettes. So, let’s say you smoke 3 cartons (30 packs) every month, equating to about a pack a day. A pack of cigarettes can range anywhere from $5-$13 a pack. 30 packs bring you to about $150-$390 a month. Coming to $1800-$4680 a year. Let’s say you switch to vaping, buy a $75 starter kit and vape 45 ml a month. That would bring you to about $375 a YEAR! Now you would need to buy new coils and batteries but those are reasonably priced and still will be drastically cheaper than cigarettes, even in the cheapest state in the U.S.
What an atomizer?
The atomizer is what you see in the middle of your tank. It holds your wick and coil inside of it. A lot of veteran vapers will interchange the word atomizer with coil from time to time as well. The wick will take in e liquid, then the coil gets heated up and will turn the e-liquid into vapor.
How do I get more vapor per puff?
The best way to accomplish this is to purchase e liquid that is high (70%+) in VG (Vegetable Glycerin). Having more coils, higher wattage, and bigger battery will also help as well.
What does throat hit mean?
A throat hit is described as what you feel when you inhale a traditional cigarette. A lot of people enjoy this sensation because it provides a smaller barrier to entry when smokers are transitioning from smoking to vaping.
Is there a difference between low and high-power battery?
Yes, low power means the coils won’t get as hot, meaning the cooler coil will provide less vapor than a high-power battery. A lower coil will also produce less flavor as well.
Why are they called 18650 batteries?
The name describes the size of the product; 1.8 mm in diameter and 65 mm tall. Almost all vaping devices run on 18650 batteries.
What does SSOCC stand for?
You may see this on some of the products we carry. It stands for Stainless Steel Organic Cotton coil.
What is a clearomizer?
A vaping device made up of a battery, atomizer, and a clear tank. While not called this very often, most e-cigs on the market today are considered clearomizers. They use the atomizer to turn the e-liquid to vapor which you inhale. The reason it’s called a clearomizer is because the tank is glass or clear plastic so you can see how much liquid you have left.
What is an RTA?
An RTA is rebuildable tank atomizer. It allows you to build you own coils for your atomizer.
What is an RDA?
Rebuildable Dripping atomizer, it doesn’t have a tank to hold e-liquid.
What is dripping?
Dripping is essentially a form of vaping. Instead of putting the e-liquid into the tank of the e-cig, you ‘drip’ the liquid right onto the wick of the coil, which lets you vape immediately. a smaller portion of vapers looking for instant vapes and usually want large white clouds use this method. The more common method is to just fill a tank with your e liquid.
Does Vaping get you high?
Don’t be silly. The most vaping will do is give you a nicotine ‘buzz’ feeling, like what chewing tobacco or smoking tobacco gives you. Other nicotine products like nicotine gum and patches will give the same sensation.
