Let’s start with the battery, as a general rule, keep it clean. If e-liquid spills onto the battery, just wipe it off, don’t let it dry onto it, especially where the threads are. If you’re battery blinks 15 times (which sounds like a lot) that means the battery is dead and you need to plug it in to recharge.
Moving up on the device, tank maintenance is pretty straightforward as well. Cleaning a dirty tank can be gross but the last thing you want to do is let old liquid sit in there. When cleaning the tank, use a high grain unflavored alcohol. This is going to give you the best results. NEVER and I can’t stress this enough, never use water or Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the tank. Water will destroy the coils and Isopropyl Alcohol is extremely toxic when ingested. After you’ve cleaned that, think about how long you have had your coil in for. A week? Two? Most coils last anywhere from 10-14 days. You can tell if you need to replace the coil when your e-liquid starts to taste burnt.
You can always clean your coils, but remember to use high grain unflavored alcohol, but this will extend the life of the coil by about 5 days at the most. Lastly, never leave your device out too long in the sun. Does anyone like warm water that’s been sitting in the sun? No. Same rule applies to e-liquid. Leaving it out in the sun can cause the ingredients in the e-liquid to separate and leak out of the tank, causing you to re-clean your device.
Filling your Tank
Top Fill Tanks:
In top fill tanks, the atomizer screws onto the cap (atomizer head) of the e-cig. With top fill tanks, you will insert e-liquid into the tank and then submerge the atomizer into the e-liquid. Some e-cigarettes have a chamber in the middle that the coil will slide into and this is the same concept in terms of filling the tank. Once you fill the tank, screw the cap back on and you are good to go!
Bottom Fill Tanks:
In bottom fill tanks, the coil screws onto the base of the atomizer which screws onto the base of the tank. You will put the tank upside down and insert the e-liquid around the chamber that is situated in the middle of the tank. Do NOT put e-liquid into the chamber in the middle, it will damage the e cigarette. After you finish this, just screw the base back onto the tank and screw the tank back onto the battery.
Changing Your Coils
Top Fill Tanks:
Top fill tanks are by far one of the more popular styles among vapers, due to its ease of use. Simply unscrew the atomizer from the tank. Some vape pens have a child-proof cap so you may need to apply more pressure than others. Once you have the atomizer off, unscrew the coil and replace it with a new coil. Rescrew the atomizer head back onto the tank and you’re good to go!
Bottom Fill Tanks:
Bottom fill tanks are a little trickier. With this design, you will need to unscrew the entire tank from the battery. After that you will unscrew the atomizer head from the bottom of the tank. Remember, if it’s a bottom fill tank and you have e-liquid in it. Make sure to keep the tank upside down so you don’t spill any e liquid anywhere. Once you have the atomizer head with the coil on it, unscrew the coil and screw on the new coil. Rescrew the atomizer back onto the tank and rethread the whole tank back onto the battery.
Remember, you do NOT need a pliers or screwdriver to tighten these products. Hand tighten everything to provide an ease of switching out products and prevent any unnecessary wear and tear.
